SOCCER PERFORMANCE TESTING
WINTER PERFORMANCE TESTING
Research grade objective testing, designed and delivered by an integrated athlete support team for individual development programming by the St. Anthony Futuro Performance Team
January 4th, 2024 6pm - 9pm
Testing Times will be at 5:45pm, 6:45pm and 7:45 pm and will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
WHY TEST WITH SPORT SCIENCE?
The Sport Science team will provide critically important athlete data that the St. Anthony - Futuro strength and conditioning coaches will use to develop precise exercise programs to maximize athlete development.
RANKING & ATHLETE IDENTIFICATION
We test indicators that are key to soccer performance and present athlete scores based on percentile rank and team rank. This helps coaches leverage payer strengths and helps support them in their work to overcome any weaknesses
PERFORMANCE GAP ANALYSIS
We have testing technologies and applied sport science staff capable of identifying deficits in subcomponents of complex movements. This allows us to target very specific areas of need for individual athlete training programs.
INJURY RESILIENCE IMPRESSION
Whether we are looking for minimum strength to weight ratios, asymmetries in force production or an athlete's ability to demonstrate adequate joint stability, our testing session will help athletes identify was to become more resistant to injury.
BASELINE DATE FOR RETURN TO PLAY DETERMINATIONS
Deciding when and how to support an athlete in their recovery is complex. Having a full picture of how they moved and generated force prior to their injury can be extremely helpful in expediting rehab programming and leads to the fastest and most complete rehab possible.
Within a couple days of the testing event, each athlete will receive an individual athlete performance report. This report will display the key data from each of the athlete's test. The report will also help athletes understand why the test is important and how their performance compares to other athletes in their club and from our 4 years for testing many top soccer athletes in the province.
To be clear, we are not in the business of predicting injuries. Unfortunately, not our brilliant sport physios nor our Sport Doctor / Orthopaedic Surgeon are able to accurately predict when injuries will and will not happen. That said, there is some sound research that points to a role that imbalance, asymmetry and weakness can play in increasing risk and vulnerability. The athletes will undergo some tests that will help us study these contributing factors. We will present the findings and any important areas an athlete might need to work on to become more resilient.
THE PROFESSIONAL ADVANTAGE
We understand that many organizations sell testing services. We know that there are versions of testing events that can help rank athletes and track their progress over time. What separates us from the rest is the depth and quality of our data. Our data quality is reinforced by upholding sound academic and professional standards associated with medical colleges and through years of lab controlled research in leading biomechanics and physiology labs. The depth of our data comes from the use of the most extensive and expensive set of testing equipment available to the public in Ontario. Our setup exceeds that of any private organization or professional sport team in the country. We are modelled after and proudly on par with the leading European soccer clubs.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
Well, we don't know if you're skilled enough, smart enough or if you work hard enough but, we did host FC Bayern Munich and their Identification camp last summer. We worked directly with Ernst Thaler, FC Bayern Director of Football Methadology and we helped their pro scouts identify 3 elite players that represented Canada on the world stage. If you're as fast and as strong as those players, we will know about it.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Coach Leo has recently joined us from the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL where he was a working as Sport Scientist and Strength and Conditioning Coach. Prior to that, Leo was working as a strength coach at the University of Michigan. He has a wealth of experience working with high performance athletes and knows very well what it takes to reach athletic goals.
TESTING + MONITORING
We use world leading testing technologies that are typically only found in the world's top soccer clubs to create athlete profiles and to understand where their greatest needs are. This allows us to cater programming to their needs and produce the best possible results for each athlete.
DATA DRIVEN PROGRAMS
Over the course of the Fall / Winter Season, athletes will undergo periodic performance testing. We will provide athlete reports that pertain to their progress in testing, their perceived injury resilience and their current gaps in performance. Our coaches will tailor the programming to help each athlete reach their goals.
