TEAM FRAMEWORK SUBMISSION

At Sport Science, no two programs are alike. After you submit your registration and interest in our programming, you will receive an onboarding package that we need to begin customizing your team's program. We need to understand aspects of your team such as:

    - How many athletes are on your roster?

    - What is your team's training and competition schedule?

    - How much experience does your team have with dryland training?

2

Once we have created a general profile for your group, we will arrange a meeting between your sport coaching staff and our Applied Sport Science Coaches to align your goals with the testing and training program design. We will want to hear about your goals for you team, your perceived areas of strength and weakness etc. We will also share insights on how we will approach the programming and how we anticipate addressing your identified needs.

COACHES TECHNICAL MEETING

3

Following the coaches meeting we will send along some documentation for the athletes themselves. Naturally, we will need to get some participation and liability waivers signed and we'll need to get an understanding of injury and health history to best accommodate individual needs. It is essential that we complete this process prior to testing and training to ensure safety.

Our athlete testing and reports are modelled after those used in the top pro sport clubs in the world. We use industry leading testing technologies to analyze sport specific dynamic athlete movements. Our analysis allows us to identify individual athlete needs for performance enhancement and improved injury resilience. The testing sessions are designed to be 1 hour and the individual and team reports will be delivered within a week of the testing event.

REPORTS

5

Because we have tested each athlete and have a sound understanding of their individual needs, we will place them in a training group that is working on a program catered to their area of greatest need. In some cases, these groups include either a strength focus, speed focus, power focus or change of direction / agility focus and stability focus. That being said the groupings and focus are sport and development dependent and can not be generalized without specific context from the coaches meeting. Beyond the performance focus groups, athletes will also be grouped by injury resilience strategies.

CONSTANTLY INFORMS WORKLOAD DECISIONS

I worked with Ryan for four years with the Toronto Maple Leafs. During that time Ryan was tasked with the role of developing our injury prevention and rehabilitation strategies. His tireless work ethic and methodical approach led to the development of truly world leading protocols. The results of these were directly correlated with the incredible success of the team during his tenure.  The team did not suffer a non-contact injury for three and a half seasons demonstrating the efficacy of Ryan’s multi-disciplinary, collaborative approach to athlete monitoring and proactive intervention. When an injury occurred the rehabilitation protocol included an unprecedented level of detail in which every possible physiological system was leveraged to ensure that the environment for healing was optimized in every way. To this end, we did not suffer any set-backs during the rehab process and never experienced a recurrence of an injury. I genuinely cannot speak highly enough of Ryan’s work.
